Concord

Concord, the county seat of Cabarrus County, is located in the rapidly growing northeast quadrant of the Charlotte metro area, about 20 miles northeast of Charlotte Center City.  Concord population in 2008 was estimated at 66,311an 18% growth rate since 2000.

In 2004 Concord won the All-America City Award, living up to the meaning of its name "harmony". The All-America City Award is given by the National Civic League annually to ten cities in the United States.

The award is the oldest community recognition program in the nation and recognizes communities whose citizen's work together to identify and tackle community-wide challenges and achieve uncommon results.

Concord is the current home to Lowe's Motor Speedway; Research and Development Office; several professional race teams, including Hendrick Motorsports and Roush Fenway Racing.

Kannapolis

Kannapolis is a fast growing city of 40,000. A central point in the high-growth area north of Charlotte's city center, Kannapolis is less than 30 minutes from I-77, Uptown Charlotte, Charlotte Douglas International Airport and the University of North Carolina Charlotte.

Kannapolis is home to the NC Research Campus, a hub that is home to eight universities and has a proud motorsports tradition. The hometown of Dale Earnhardt, the City continues its strong racing legacy with major teams like Stewart Haas Racing headquartered here.
